Tracksuit everything: MISSGUIDED X Sean John Collaboration

by Alex Missick

If you were a teenager in the early 2000s like me, then the new MISSGUIDED X Sean John collaboration will definitely be right up your alley. I remember my older male cousins sporting those oversized white T-shirts everywhere. However, us girls were loving some Paris Hilton, Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez, who are all compelling female icons that this collection is inspired by. They were trend setters and trail blazers back then, and still have influence today.

I am very excited for this collection, as it is a complete and total nod to the era of velour tracksuits and that blurred line where loungewear meets street wear. It drops on September 29th at www.missguidedus.com. MISSGUIDED was definitely the right partner for this collaboration and they did right by not leaving out us plus sized ladies, with available sizes XS to Plus and a decent price range, retailing from $22.00 – $152.00.

The Collection, correctly dubbed, “The Classics,” is going to be a must-have collection for fall. The 114-piece range captures and cements Sean John’s legacy as it is their first women’s collaboration. There are notes of velour, nylon and sweat fabrics that were the embodiment of Sean John’s classic styles throughout this collection.

You can also expect the MISSGUIDED X Sean John collaboration to contain those classic oversized t-shirts, joggers with coordinating hoodies, bike shorts, mini dresses, leggings, bodysuits, intimates and accessories. Up and coming rapper BIA, with her edgy style, is the face for the campaign.

So far, I am very interested in the hoodies with matching joggers. I especially love the bandana inspired track suit, a nod to Jennifer Lopez’s 2000 VMAs outfit. I think that one will definitely sell out so if you want it, grab it now!

Missguided is a global fashion powerhouse, inspired by millennial women who are like-minded rebels that champion freedom of expression.

Founded in 1998, Sean John is best known for its interpretive take on classic aspirational styles and quickly became one of the most elite men’s lifestyle brands to take the fashion world by storm and its legacy speaks for itself.

Therefore, this collaboration to produce a women’s collection with a classic style that embodies being your authentic self, is long over due and I could not think of a better duo to get it done.

Let me know in the comments if you remember growing up seeing Sean John and if you are getting anything from the collection.
