I purchased the shade 5.2 (Warm Amber) and was scared at first because the color seemed to be a bit warmer than I had hope. Shade 5.2 is described as being for darker tan skin with yellow undertones. However, the color worked out perfect for me as it actually provided some color correcting.
With a thick, yet blendable formula, it is very concentrated and a little goes a long way. The directions say you need the size of a rice grain, and they are definitely right! This concealer really covers and took care of the darkness under my eyes and blurred out my fine lines. This concealer makes me look wide awake and is not heavy at all. You can not feel this on the skin no matter how long you wear it. It also did not settle into my lines and stayed exactly where I placed it. It works well with a blending sponge or a blush.
The applicator on the MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Concealer is huge. It is an extra large doe-foot applicator with a triangular tip for precise application. I also enjoy that it’s a soft, fluffy microfiber covering on the applicator. It does not drag under the eyes, so it makes for comfortable application under the eyes.
This concealer is a must have. I love the formula and the fact that it plays well with other products. It’s not too matte that it dries out my under eye area, yet it moves with my skin. Definitely wear this with a full face and your favorite shade of the MAKE UP FOR EVER Ultra HD Foundation.
