Are You Ready to Welcome 2016?
Whether we like it or not, a new year is upon us and for some, that’s just dandy while others are not so thrilled. For me, to welcome 2016 so soon is just amazing. I see the new year as a time to be reborn. It’s a time to really reflect on yourself and decide what it is that you really want to work on and move forward with for the next 365 days. Think about it: 365 days to do what you need to do to make you happy, to make your definition of success a reality. That’s not a ton of time, but it’s certainly a start. Here are a few things that I’ll be looking forward to in 2016.
New Work Space
There’s a room in my partner’s home that has been designated for years as the cat’s room. It’s a nice space that’s perfect for writing and filming that I know will be the best for me. There’s a ton of storage junk in there, but it has one large window that lets in a good bit of sunlight which is great for makeup tutorials, and a good size closet that is perfect for storage. I know with a little bit of love and renovation, I can make that room work for me for the time being.
New Place
Have you ever had the thought that you needed a new place to live, better yet a new country? I think that’s the most extreme way to start over. You get an entirely new perspective and new inspirations. I’ve been pondering this for a while now and I know that blogging in the Caribbean is virtually impossible due to the high taxes that have to be paid for items being brought into that country. It’s additionally hard because the mindset of the people is rather closed to creatives like myself. I’ve been looking into places like Canada but I know I need to do a little more research before I decide to permanently set roots in a new country. It can be kind of scary, but I think after making a few more visits, I’ll make a decision.
New Beauty Trends
I’m really excited to see what the beauty brands have in store for us for 2016. Many brands have already said welcome 2016 by releasing new products this month. I think they are testing the waters as to what might work for consumers for the rest of the year and what type of approach should be used based on our buying habits from the new items. I’m excited for new trends in lips and eyes, but I would love to see new innovations for skin and skincare.
