ColourPop Love Bug Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick from the Fall Edit Collection
ColourPop Love Bug Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick ($6.00 for 0.11 fl oz) is a warm terracota shade that gives off a brown, plum shade on dark skin. When I first swatched this shade, I immediately thought this is going to be the perfect pumpkin spice lip color for fall. The color is very opaque and the applicator is very soft, allowing for even, smooth coverage.
Unfortunately, that’s where it ended for me. The color dried down very quickly. This makes me feel like this shade is not good for persons new to liquid lipstick formulas. It easily flaked and cracked as it dried and definitely started to fall apart once I started talking. The formula for the ColourPop Love Bug Ultra Matte liquid lipstick is very dry and accentuated every line on my lip. I really like this color and I wanted it to work, but something has to be done with the formula. I understand that it does carry the label of being ultra matte, but I prefer a comfortable matte finish.
After two hours of wear, I noticed how the color just flaked and fell off my lips. The formula does not have a noticable smell or taste and is very pigmented. This was my first ColourPop Ultra Matte liquid lipstick purchase, so I do hope this is not a reflection on the entire range of this finish.
