Smooth, lightweight skin with the new Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation
Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation ($25 for 1 fl oz) is a seamless balance of lightweight coverage. This foundation lasted 5 hours on my combination skin before I saw any type of sheen to my T-zone. This foundation offers sheer to medium coverage and I prefer to use a beautyblender when applying rather than a brush for better coverage.
The Clinique Superbalanced Silk Foundation does contain SPF so it offers sun protection for those perfect Fall days in the sun. An additional benefit of this foundation, is that is adds moisture to the skin. So it’s like having the best of both worlds as it allows skin to stay moisturized and control oil.
The oil-free formula was very easy to apply and dried down to a natural, matte finish on the skin. Once I saw the matte finish, I knew there was going to be some assistance with oil control from this foundation and it definitely helped. Clinique claims that this formula is best suited for Dry combination to oily skin types and I would have to agree.
The packaging was my only disappointment with the foundation as there is no pump. This made it a hassle to retrieve the foundation out of the bottle without worrying about it spilling everywhere. There are 20 shades to choose from in this formula. The shade that I’m wearing is Silk sable, a warm golden color. I could have gone one shade deeper, since my complexion is still in summer mode. However, I think it would be a better shade match for the winter.
