This Mothers Day I wanted to feel like the princess I am because my Queen mother is still with me. So, deciding what to wear on Mothers Day was super easy. I had the perfect princess dress for the occasion. I had never owned a silver dress before and I could not pass up the Allanah dress from Chi Chi London. I wanted to walk into the room dripping in jewels (diamonds preferably) and this dress gave the perfect illusion.
The dress had so much sequin embellishments going on that I kept the jewelry very subtle. I added a diamond bracelet, silver ring and small silver earrings for more sparkle. I decided to pull my hair up into a mid-bun because the designs on the dress went all the way around. I always love when a dress had the design continually through out. When it comes to makeup, what to wear on Mothers Day always comes down to how much of a fresh face you want. I wanted a fresh face, but I also wanted a bit of drama. So I kept the makeup soft adding some gray shimmer eyeshadow on my eyes and topped it off with mauve lips.
To complete the look, the hardest part was finding the right shoes. I almost wore silver heels with this dress, but I figured why look like the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz? So I went for my favorite black sling back heels instead. I believe they brought the right amount of sophistication to the dress. Although I wore this sequined midi dress for Mothers Day, it’s also great for an evening look due to the baroque inspired design, sweetheart neckline and mesh detailing. The attention to detain in the design of the dress is impeccable.
