Skirts are back in fashion and the pleated skirt seems to be all the rage, so I wanted to share how to wear a pleated skirt with sneakers as I am all for being cozy and chic. I’m also not at all disappointed that skirts are pack for the fall/winter 2020 because as a curvy girl, pleated skirts can very figure flattering and do a great job of concealing my tummy while adding length to my short frame. I’m loving this one I found on Amazon and the price and quality could not be beaten!
If I’m going to wear a pleated skirt with sneakers, I always think about what my top needs to look like. You can pair a pleated skirt with anything, but I think it’s important to allow the garment to still have movement. Chunky sweaters, blazers and event graphic tees can work with a pleated skirt, but today, I paired my navy pleated skirt with a white turtle neck sweater. This allowed me to be seasonally appropriate and allow my top to match my sneakers at the same time. It also let the skirt be the focal point of the outfit. The blonde hair also made this look pop too!
When wearing a pleated skirt with sneakers, you also want to be mindful of the accessories you wear. Belt bags, belts and jewelry, all need to be thought out because as with all garments, pleated skits can range in a number of fabrics like faux leather and sequins. Here are a few pleated skirts that I think would work with a number of outfit combinations.

Your choice of sneaker is also important as well when pairing with a pleated skirt. Make sure it is comfortable, first of all, like these Adidas ones I’m wearing. Second, try to match it with your top or the color of the skirt. If you match the skirt, it can give a greater illusion of longer legs, if you match your top, it breaks up the outfit just a bit. Here are a few sneaker faves that I think would look great with a pleated skirt.
