Flirty Vintage Inspired Red Dress

by Alex Missick

As Summer approaches, I find myself looking into more heat appropriate dresses that are still classy. The sun and humidity was just brutal today. Living in the tropics is all fun and games until you start sweating five minutes into being outdoors. I fell in love with this flirty vintage inspired red dress a while back. The simplicity of the style and bold color caught my eye. It’s very lightweight and it totally hot weather friendly, having no sleeves. It is however, a bit difficult to iron. The faux wrap v-neck gives the illusion of a larger bust and the full skirt helps to cinch in the waist. I wore a black petticoat with this dress just to make it a bit more fun. I’m obsessed with the fullness a petticoat can bring so I’m totally getting more.

I wore light makeup with just a touch of red on the lips. I would have preferred to wear rubies with this look but I think pearls made it stand out a bit more. I kept my hair up to show off the V-cut in the back. This dress came with a sash for the waist but it was a tad bit too short for my liking. I wore my favorite 40s style T-Strap heels to really pull together this flirty vintage inspired red dress.
