On this Good Friday, as a reflection on the death of Jesus Christ, I wanted to wear a simple outfit. Black was the color of choice, but it had to be something that stood out- yet still modest. I loved this mermaid maxi dress for the occasion because it was very long and the cuffed sleeves provided just enough originality to the dress.
To cinch in the waist, I added a sequin bow belt to this mermaid maxi dress that I’ve had from about four Christmas’ ago. I thought it brought attention to the waist line while not taking away from the dress. I opted not to wear a necklace, just simple cubic zirconia studs and two cocktail silver rings.
I had to get this dress altered by ILSHAN (who is an amazing designer by the way) because this dress was way to long. I wanted to give my feet some time in the sun as well and wore some strappy heels. As for my hair, I was inspired by the crown of thorns that my Lord and Savior had to wear, so I created a twist halo braid to give the illusion of a crown.
