MAC Teyana Taylor Junie Bee Lipstick ($20) is described as a mid-tone purple with blue and purple pearl. The frost finish formula is sheer but the opacity can be built up. The blue pearl in the formula really stands out, allowing the purple to have a neon vibe, consistent with the 90s feel of this collection.
As you build this purple shade, you will see some pink undertones. To deepen it, I would suggest pairing it with a deep/dark purple lip liner. Once you reach your desired intensity, keep in mind that the shimmer in will increase also. It is rather gritty as you build it up and you can feel the shimmer/glitter when you blend your lips together. It is rather uncomfortable.
As castor oil is the first ingredient in this lipstick, the formula is moisturizing, but it doesn’t hold up well through meals so you will be needed to reapply throughout the day. Pair this lipstick with the MAC Teyana Taylor Save Ya Tears Hunny for a more intense purple pout.
