MAC Teyana Taylor House of Petunia Mineralized Skinfinish ($37) is a rich, gold slow-baked skinfinish that provides a glorious glow to the skin. Dressed in a 90s neon compact, the bronze accents running through this mineralized skin finish, may give the illusion that it is a highlight, when it’s more subdued than the usual highlight.
I would consider the velvet-soft MAC Teyana Taylor House of Petunia Mineralized Skinfinish as more of a multipurpose mineralized skinfinish. It allows you to add a glow to the high points of the face, or as I prefer it, blended all over the face for a sheer, natural luminous glow. In my opinion, the only thing separating this from an actual highlight, is the intensity.
The only thing I did not like about this product was the packaging. The color was great, but the compact felt a bit cheap and plastic-like. I expect more weight to it for a more luxe feel. So much emphasis was placed in the box packaging and I felt the compact was left as after thought.
Upon first swatching, the color appeared as if it would be ashy on my skin. The gold appeared rather like a white gold as you can see in the above photo. Once I used a fully brush and swirled it around in the product, it mixed better with the bronzed accents and gave a soft-focus effect to my skin that was not ashy or light.
I love the sheer glow this product provides to my skin. I recommend for those who have dry skin and want a fresh glow. I have combination oily skin and this did not turn greasy through out the day, but allowed my skin to look really plump and glowy. It looks extra natural when paired with a gorgeous lip like the MAC Teyana Taylor I got a man lipstick.
