MAKEUP FOREVER Ultra HD Concealer and Corrector collection are here to give under eye perfection.
MAKEUP FOREVER Ultra HD Concealer and Corrector collection ($27 for 0.23 oz) is the latest addition to the Ultra HD range. The unique formula focuses on blurring fine lines and wrinkles as well as concealing and correcting dark under eye circles. Available in 10 shades, the formulation is divided into two categories- correction and concealing. There are five concealing shades to conceal imperfections, even out skin tone and brighten the under eye area to reveal a more refreshed, radiant and wide awake look. Here are a few key ingredients that help get the job done:
- Lamellar structure pigments- these reflect and diffuse light, erasing under eye shadows and blurring imperfections.
- A 3D elastomer gel- this reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
- An anti-dark circle complex- this consists of green algae and amino acids to help conceal and correct, combined with a radiance booster comprised of Asian berry extract that helps stimulate collagen production to brighten and smooth the skin.
There are additionally five correcting shades to counterbalance discoloration, neutralize dark circles and blue tones around the eyes. The packaging is of a squeeze tube, which is great for travel and the end nozzle is a very soft, white foam type of texture. I would also give the tube a little shake before dispensing the product so that you can get the correct pigmentation. I can tell you that a little bit of both products goes a long way and you only need the smallest amount to get the job done. The texture of both products is soft and creamy. Application is best done with the fingers to initially apply. I found the applicator, while soft, to not give an even distribution of product. Blending out with a second tool if you are not comfortable with your fingers, such as a Beauty Blender, is advised.
The MAKEUP FOREVER Ultra HD concealer and corrector duo lasted well over eight hours, concealing my dark circles and taking care of my fine lines (I don’t have wrinkles just yet). There was no settling into fine lines and it did not flake nor did it separate during wear. I did notice however, that the darkest correcting shade needs a touch less white pigment in it’s formulation. Once I applied it, I was not sure if it would be orange enough to correct my dark circles. While it did correct them, I would therefore suggest that there needs to be a few more options for those with darker skin tones than my own. Additionally, there needs to be darker shades in the concealer for darker skin tones. While the final color in the concealer range worked for me to highlight with, I can not imagine someone darker than me being able to use it and experience it’s benefits.
