Comfortable and Matte? MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Liquid Matte lipsticks have answered the call!
MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist liquid matte ($20 for 0.08 OZ) is an ultra matte liquid lipstick formula that is new to the Artist family. Available in six shades, the formula is opaque and very creamy. It is comfortable to wear and does not turn into a dry, flakey mess on the lips. The matte finish gives an almost velvet like appearance once it has dried down. I did notice however, that the formula found it’s way into the fine lines on my lips and had a slightly sticky feel when I pressed my lips together after it had dried down.
Packaging is the classic lip gloss packaging with a comfortable doe foot applicator. This applicator pulls up more than enough product to cover your lips in one application. The light weight, pigmented formula boasts of having a combination of moisturizing avocado oil and the long lasting power of beeswax. There is also a slight minty fragrance to the formula, but no minty feeling on the lips. The scent is not over bearing and it is not noticeable during application. The shades wore well through meals at around six hours and appear to be kiss proof. Although all six shades are neutrals, I think there is a shade for every skin tone. I am hoping that the line expands with more colors over the spring and summer months because the formula is excellent. Here are the shades:
